Throw color and caution to the wind in a splatter painting workshop with Saint Louis artist Ty de LaVenta. Inspired by the artwork in Universal Turf: Peter Manion, Ty will demonstrate how to layer colors in dynamic designs that appear to warp light and space to create a unique, expressionist piece of art. Due to the nature of this program, please wear clothing and shoes that can get messy.
Availability is limited to 15 guests.
Ty de LaVenta is a self-taught artist and didn’t pursue art until later in his adult life. Ty’s artistic career began with creating sculptures for ten years until shifting towards his true passion of painting. His work is interdisciplinary in nature, with dimensional canvases that challenge the idea of the 2D picture plane. Ty’s passion for painting has been fueled not only by the act of painting itself, but also the meditative process of creation.
